Around the same time as that guitar hero spot was being completed in London,I was also wrapping up a year-long project called Boy Zero.Written by Quinn Tetterton and Charles Cohen, this 56 page story was featured in the May issue of Heavy Metal.Just as a side note,I thought that it might be appropriate, now that I have reached the status of printed artist in Heavy Metal,to introduce myself to Simon Bisley at the San Diego con, which is no easy thing. So I puttered around the Heavy Metal booth while he was signing autographs patiently waiting my turn flipping through one of his books, at one point he looked over and barked at me"hey! You gonna buy that thing or not, this ain't no damn library."

And so, what was your answer to the Biz?

Best.

Lo

I was so shocked I didnt really know what to say,so I turned and wandered over to the cashier. What a goof I am

Judging from the pics I've seen of him, the guy looks like Conan.
So even if it would have probably been the best answer, give him "the finger" would probably also be a very risky way to show your disapproval.
Too bad...(^_^)

Howard at the Heavy Metal booth gave me the book for free and now I have a book called Simon Bisely
"the bible"

Yeah.
I've seen this book.
Too bad it contains so many frustrating paintings.
That's only my 2 cents about it, but in my opinion, since the middle of the 90's Simon Bisley has become his own caricature visually speaking.
I don't know how to explain it, if it's because so many clones appeared at this time or if it's because he mainly works since this time with his buddies (Eastman and Danzig) who are probably not the people who gonna tell him if his works look rushed.
I was horrified when I purchased his Authority/Lobo saying to myself:"What a shame, it's a pain to think the same guy did ABC Warriors, Slaine and Dredd fantastic art, only 15 years ago.
I call this the "first work masterpiece curse".

Hey when you do Citizen Kane at 25 what are you gonna do the rest of your director life?
I guess the same happened to Biz with his ABC Warriors/Slaine works.
Too bad.

But hey, the guy has already made history, so what the f*ck.
